She's so quiet on the jet that she resembles the dead girl she is supposed to be. Lexi is dealing with stuff, she knows it, but she can't comfort her. She can't do anything but stare out the window and think of the man who had been father, mentor, master, and savior to her. James was not perfect, but he was close enough to perfect for her.

She should have been at his side fighting when things came to a head. She should have destroyed every one of his daughters and put those slayers in the ground. She should have been his weapon. But she wasn't there. She'd been taken by her sire and forced to run away from the remains of what had been her life.

The anger was overwhelming. For over an hour she stared out the window and dug her nails into the palms of her hands. Then she looked over at her pouting princess and realized she felt neglected. Lexi was her entire world now. She had been the center of Sophia's universe ever since she met her in the dream. But now she was her entire world.

Crossing over to her, she grabbed her by the hair and dragged her to the back of the jet, tossing her easily on the bed as she closed the bedroom door. "We're going to be legends, Alexia," she whispered as she crawled up on the bed and straddled her girlfriend easily. Pinning her hands to the bed she kissed her hard, biting down on her bottom lip hard enough to draw blood.

"We're going to leave a trail of carnage behind us. No one is going to be able to stop us. You're going to become the killer you're meant to be, and I'm going to give you the world." She looked down at her through yellow eyes and grinned. "And then we're coming back and turning your mother and brother."

Working for Harry was an interesting experience. Mostly he was keeping her busy so she couldn't hurt his family anymore. There was a fire burning behind those dark eyes that made her smirk every day when she reported into work. He hated her so much, yet he kept her so close.

She made his coffee. She answered his phones. She ran his errands. She dropped to her knees when he told her too. She crawled across the office when he demanded it. She gripped the side of his desk as he ran the tip of the blade across her flesh daring her to cry out. She kept silent of course. After all, he was her boss, and she liked playing his games.

He didn't have the same edge and power that James did, but he was interesting enough. She was watching as he lost more of himself with each passing day. That soul was eating him alive. He knew everything she had done to his sweet little girl, and it was driving him insane.

It was just before Christmas when the game changed a bit. He'd tell her to come to him after she'd fed. Then he'd cut her open with that blade, inch by inch, and savor the blood she spilled for him. Instead of blood in a cup he was using her as his personal buffet, and frankly she was fine with it. Because every time he lost himself into that darkness he was one step closer to being the daddy her little girl wanted.

She would never deny Lexi anything after all.

I turned on the light and smirked as I saw the pretty little girl tied to the chair just where I'd left her. Blonde hair, green eyes, she was a sight to savor. My girl liked the blondes, and I had to admit I was starting to dig them too. Of course it angered me that at one time there had been a blonde that held my sire's attention. This girl looked like her. This girl could be her. Accept that girl wouldn't have remained in the chair like a good girl.

Naughty little slayer. I had a trick or two planned for her. I'd carve my name into her heart the way she had carved hers into my sire and my favorite girl. I'd make them see that she wasn't so tough. She was breakable just like they were. I could make Faith unbreakable though. One little nip at that hot sweet flesh and she could be as strong as me.

Pity I like the way her heartbeat drives me into a frenzy. It's better than the music they spin in the local clubs that we go to. No, I'd leave her with her pulse until I was absolutely sure she was ready to take the plunge into the cold.

I'd make Buffy scream and beg for mercy just before I flayed her skin while she twisted in the chains I'd shackle her into.

But first things first. I had a pretty little blonde in a chair and she deserved my complete and undivided attention.

"Shhh," Sophia whispers as she grabs the pretty brunette boy by the throat and drags him into a dark alley. Her princess is still hunting. This will be a special surprise for her. He's the right size. The same size and coloring as her brother. He has those dark bambi eyes. That look of innocence and fear still etched across his face.

"Be a good boy and don't scream. Otherwise I'll have to hurt you," She tells him as she tightens her hold on his neck. Nail dig into sweet warm flesh and the blood pools to the surface. He's struggling to breathe. Struggling to get away. He's terrified of course. Confused as to how someone so small and seemingly harmless is able to hold him up with just one hand and so little effort.

"You're a present. My little girl will be so pleased with you. You'll play fun games and make her very very happy."

Sophia slammed him against the wall and pressed up against him. She grinded her hips and smirked as his body betrayed him. "It will be good for you." For awhile at least. He's a good little boy. He stays quiet and waits to be unwrapped by Lexi.

Shhh.

I was a happy child. A good little girl who always obeyed her mother and father. Christmas was special with the family. We decorated the tree together. We had a big dinner on Christmas day. We opened presents on Christmas morning.

I remember waking up early on Christmas Eve morning to help my mother bake cookies for Santa. Gingerbread men were my favorite. I liked to decorate them. Mom made the best peanut butter cookies. She swore Santa loved them as much as me. I doubted that at the time.

My earliest memories all blend together. I remember being a child. I remember being good. I remember being weak. I remember being scared. I remember churches when they represented purity and sanctuary. I remember being someone who I am no longer.

I like who I am now.

I would eat the child I used to be for breakfast.

The biggest change that Sophia notices in her girl is Lexi's eyes. It goes beyond the brilliant yellow they turn when she shifts into her new face. No, there is a light behind them even when they are dark brown that wasn't there before. A devious dangerous type of spark that sends a shiver clear up her spine.

She's beautiful now. Not that she wasn't before, but now it's even more profound. Before she looked so much like her mother and father. Now she looks like herself. Something unique and priceless. Something so addictive that Sophia can't keep her hands off her.

But it's those eyes that drive her crazy with lust and obsession. The twinkle in them as Lexi stalks her prey. The way they shine after she had just fed and wants to share the taste with her sire. Will she regret what she's done? Never.

This is her girl. This is who Lexi was supposed to be. How could anyone look into Lexi's eyes and not see that?

Dear mini me,

Your parents love you so make sure you enjoy the time you have with them. When they tell you not to go out after dark without them you should listen. You'd be very surprised to find out what truly goes bump in the night.

You are destined for great things. Your name is on a list that will fall into the hands of a monster. He's beautiful, you know, but he's still a monster. When you see those bright blue eyes look at you, you'll want to run. You'll want to run back home.

Do it. Make sure your family dies before you. Because if you let him take you first he'll simply bring you back to your family and have you be the one to kill them. You're destined to do great things. Vile things that will make people fear you. One day you will be among the things that go bump in the night. But. Don't let him take you before he finishes off your family. Better they die by his teeth than yours.

Love,

Sophia

I'd had enough of waiting for people to figure the prophecies out. Had enough of secret meetings on the island that allowed me only a taste of what was truly mine. My girl was becoming more addicted to my teeth ripping at her flesh. She probably was beginning to notice that with each taste she allowed me she was being drawn deeper into the dark abyss that was my hold on her. The last thing I wanted was for her to achieve a moment of clarity and decide to sever ties again.

Her father was pissing me off by making me his office bitch. Harry Osborn was still a little boy trying to be a man. He was James' puppet on a string. I'd be damned if I would crawl for a puppet. He thought he could protect his family from me, but he had no idea how much control I already had on Alexia. How much darkness and obsession I'd seen reflecting in those dark eyes of hers. Oh yes, she was ready and so was I.

It was time to make my move.

It took a simple glamor spell to make me look like a harmless friend of the twins. Someone they would easily invite into the house. I had the dart gun ready despite my natural desire to eat them both and leave their cooling corpses posed in the living room as a welcome home gift for my baby. I'd made a promise not to hurt Lexi's family so I'd use the darts to secure them. The door was answered, an invitation extended to come in, and that was that. Before Faith realized she had a vampire in her home I had her darted with two darts. I turned the gun on Tyler next. Two for him as well. Oh how the pretty Osborns fell like timber in a forest.

Making short work of securing them with chains that I'd brought with me. I left them bound in the basement. If I knew Osborn he had been tempted to make it soundproof. That was the nature of the Aurelian line. Always have a secure playroom. Not that the basement showed any signs of being the family fun time room, it would do. Hopefully it wasn't soundproof because I wanted them to hear her. I wanted her to hear them if it came down to it. Terror and rage only made the blood sweeter you see. I propped them up across from each other so they could converse when they woke up. Once they were all taken care of, I locked the door.

Then I went to sit in the living room with a drink. I had more darts in the gun in case anyone decided to drop by uninvited. If they were family, I'd dart them, and if they weren't? I was a bit famished. It was hard setting the stage for my sweet girl's rebirth. Lounging on a chair, I sipped the drink and kept my eyes on the door. Come here, pretty girl, Mommy has a surprise for you.

[Lexi]

The door closes and she's looking across the room at the boy who dared to touch her girl. Licking her lips she circles her prey with yellow eyes flashing a warning. Sophia didn't bother to learn his name. She didn't care enough about him to invest that time and energy. Instead she watched him only when he got near her precious Alexia.

No words are exchanged. She attacks quickly, efficiently, ripping at his flesh with her teeth and nails. She throws him against walls. She dragged him against the floor. She punches, kicks, scratches and bites until he stays down and learns his place.

He is beneath Lexi. He is but an obstacle. He shall be destroyed. When the door opens they will find him in pieces. Limbs scattered across the four corners of the room. His heart in her hands, a present for her beloved. On the walls, scrawled in his blood there is a heart that says, "Sophia and Alexia-destiny called for them."

When she awakes from this dream she can practically taste the boy's blood on her lips. He will be destroyed. Obstacle removed.

Vampires normally avoided Halloween. There was too much activity that night with mortals playing at being demons. It was better to keep a low profile and wait for the wretched holiday to pass. Sophia wasn't a normal vampire though. She quite delighted in attending Halloween parties wearing her true face.

"That's a killer make-up job," One girl had said as she circled a party in the eighties. There were a ton of Madonna look-a-likes, and this girl was no different. She even had the white wedding dress on. "Vampire yeah?"

"Mmhm. Madonna?" Sophia had whispered as she slowly backed the girl up into a dark corner of the club.

"Like a virgin."

"Shall I touch you for the very first time?" Sophia purred as her hand slipped under all that white satin. She grinned as the girl arched into the touch and pulled Sophia in for a kiss. Fucking her perfect "virgin" against the wall while the rest of the party goers were oblivious was a good time. Draining the bitch and leaving her propped up with a drink in her hand? Priceless.

How could she be expected to ignore such a delightful holiday?

Night comes and she is able to move freely among the living. She watches them with a predator's gaze while disarming them with a child's smile. Sophia was seventeen when death came for her in that church. She will be preserved as the picture of innocence for eternity. It's that picture, that illusion that looks so sweet and fragile beneath the moon's light, that lures them to their deaths.

She drains some of them quickly. They are nothing more than food. She views what she does no different than humans who sink their dull teeth into a fat juicy steak. Top of the food chain, baby, and she prefers the top choice of humans.

Pretty girls and handsome boys, usually a bit young, sometimes as young as she was. Teenagers are sweeter than adults, yet not too sweet like younger children. They have lived just enough to give them a flavor that is satisfying without being too weighted down with years of living.

She likes their tears. Sweet salty tears and the sounds of them pleading for mercy. Oh she can give them mercy. If they become more than food and turn into play things she will grant them mercy. Only when she becomes bored with their pleading and tears. Once she is covered in their blood and has learned their secrets. She gives them mercy by draining them dry and tossing their corpses away before the night ends and the day begins.

Sophia loves the night.

Lexi is the pet I want. Perfect little kitty with nails like claws. She purrs when petted, hisses when angered, and is as unpredictable as any tiger or lion you'd find in the wild. Yes, I know it says non-human, but really my girl isn't human now. She's some hybrid that doesn't quite fit in. Just like me. My little mirror image who needs a diamond collar and a leash.

Here kitty kitty, Mommy wants to play with you. I'll teach you fun tricks. I'll make you stronger than you ever imagined. I'll show you how to turn pleasure into pain. I'll teach you to play games and come out on top. The perfect little pampered princess of a pet who can curl up in my lap and lounge until I am ready to have her strike.

She is a weapon who has yet to be tamed and taught. But I can help her. Just like her grandfather helped me. She wanted to meet, and how could I deny her the request? After all, she is mine, and I am hers. Even if she tries to deny me, I know she still think about me. She still craves what I gave her because no one else knows my kitten the way I do.

We are destined to be together. I am destined to be the one to save her from her fate and turn her into something better. Something perfect and priceless, and completely fucking mine.

I sent her a Hallmark card with two girls holding hands. Inside the card I wrote in blood red ink, "Come to me where our hearts first met. I'm waiting for you. Always waiting for you, Alexia."

Lounging on the island where she was born I wondered if she would remember that first dream when she came to me and proved to me that I was hers. She was a smart girl. Surely she would figure it out. Until then, I let the sun beat down on me as I soaked in the rays. Faith couldn't destroy the tranquility of this place. Her flames burned out, and now it is as it once was. It is Lexi's, which makes it mine.

[Open to Alexia. Here kitty kitty. Purr for me baby. ;) ]

Checking her watch she smiled at the time. Soon it would be the day. Her beautiful Alexia would be seventeen years old. Sophia missed her girl so bad that her entire body ached. She was sure if she had a soul it would break in two. How could Lexi not see how much she loved her? How could she not appreciate the things she would do to capture her attention?

Streamers decorated the warehouse in shades of purple, pink, and silver. Balloons of the same color were filled with helium and scattered across the roof. A table in the center of the room was set up with a picture perfect birthday cake. Seventeen candles were lined up ready to be lit. Who really needed one to grow up.

"Happy Birthday to you," she sang into the ear of the dark haired teenage girl who sat in the chair with half closed eyes. She had stopped screaming an hour ago. "Happy Birthday to you..." Sophia sang again as she looked at the dead brunette boy who sat across from her. They were siblings, but not twins. It was as close as she could get. "Happy Birthday dear Alexis and Tyler, Happy Birthday to you."

"It's not my birthday," the girl whispered as she continued to stare across the table at her dead brother. Tears welled in her eyes as her head was painfully jerked to the side.

"Oh, but it will be soon. I'm going to give you a new birthday, and when you wake up? You're going to give my girl a present." Licking slowly from the base of her neck all the way up to the pulse point that danced beneath her lips, she ripped into the tender flesh slowly, savoring the sweet taste. This girl would be a present. Someone for Lexi to kill. It was in her nature after all. It was time to begin preparing Alexia Osborn for her destiny.

Just before the girl drank from her, Sophia whispered in her ear, "Don't you want to make a wish?"

"Its times like this I need you here with me, with me."

She looks so pretty when she's chained to the bed. Long black hair framing her face that reminds me of beautiful portraits in art museums. She's pale smooth skin so warm to the touch. Her heart beats so fast as I smile down at her. This beautiful slayer has wrapped me around her soul. I have become too devoted to her. Too addicted to the sound of her heart thumping to the beat of drums as we dance, fuck, and fight. Too addicted to how warm she feels when I curl up around her like a lazy kitty because the sun has decided it's time to come inside for the day.

"I should punish you," I told her as dark eyes lock with mine. "Naughty little girl. You've made me love you." The blade from the new dagger slowly slices into her inner right thigh. A perfect heart is drawn, and my girl, my perfect girl, doesn't scream out. She dances beneath the blade, holding tight to the chains, but she doesn't attempt to beg for mercy.

Leaning forward, I trace the mark with the tip of my tongue, flicking at her skin lightly, as I watch her dance for an entirely different reason. She has come so far. I kept her alive much longer than I ever thought I could. The temptation was getting so hard to resist now.

She's naked and shivering as I trace my name across her breasts just hard enough to bring drops of blood to the surface. Bringing the blade to my lips, I lick it clean as I look down at her. See my name carved into her skin. See tears in eyes that seem to reflect nothing but devotion. A single heart on her thigh that symbolizes what she has done to me.

"You're so good. So perfect," I whisper into her ear as I turn the dagger in my hand so I'm holding the blade end. The jeweled handle teases the warmth between her legs as I feel her struggle against those chains. "Faith, baby," I whisper as I pull back to look at her. "Do you want me to make you mine forever?" Tossing the dagger aside, my fingers replace it, relishing the warmth she gives. Can I really stand the loss of the that heart beat and the way she feels so hot to the touch? I suppose if she wants immortality, by now, she's earned it.

The dreams have been driving her crazy lately. Vivid dreams involving cages and magic. Souls being stuffed into vampires. Soul being stuffed into her. She wakes up screaming. Clutches Faith close to her as she holds on tight while taking breaths she doesn't need.

Then the anger sets in. She puts Faith through the paces. Doesn't stop until her body is battered, bloody and aching with evidence of Sophia's rage and insanity. Then she takes care of her. Pampers her like a princess. Sweet words whispered into her ear as she promises to never let anyone hurt her. She makes her feel good all over because she knows pleasure mixes so well with pain.

When she sees the questioning look in her obsession's eyes she shrugs and says one word only. "Soul." It doesn't have to make sense to Faith. It's not like it makes sense to Sophia. It's just a bad dream. A recurring bad dream that gets more vivid each time she falls asleep. Maybe it's time to give up on sleep.

She waited for the reaction to her present, and she wasn't disappointed. From the shadows she watched as Alexia prayed for the man who was the sacrifice to their love. The punishment to Lexi turning her back on what Sophia had offered her. But it wasn't enough of a reaction. There wasn't enough fire behind those dark eyes that she adored. No, no Lexi was simply going through the motions and that wouldn't do.

It was time to step up the game.

Who to pick to play with? There were so many options. Tyler would be fun, but crossing that line would push Lexi too far too soon. No she needed to save him as an absolute last resort. Though, inflicting pain on Tyler through another person? Yes, yes that would be perfect. Lexi couldn't stand for her brother to be hurt so she would want to save him. Avenge what happened to him. The fire behind her eyes would ignite in a way that would remind Sophia of Faith. Oh Faith had been fun. She licked her lips at the memory.

She waited in the shadows for Liliana to leave the hotel to visit the twins at their home. Angel was in New York with Harry which meant that it wouldn't be hard to grab the pretty slayer. After all, they were old friends right? She grabbed Lily just before she got to her car, slamming her head against the car hard enough to make the slayer go limp. Perfect. Taking her by the hair she dragged her into the trunk of Sophia's car, securing her inside before sliding behind the steering wheel. It was time to leave a lasting impression.

There was a beach house that James had given her awhile back. She had spent some quality time with Lexi there before Harry ruined everything. She wanted to rip his head off for it, but Faith had already done that and he kept coming back. Jerk. By the time she had Lily secured in the chains in the basement the girl was still out of it. She leaned against a wall, antique dagger in her hand as she waited for those bright blue eyes to open up. When they did there was a furious shaking of the chains as the smell of panic and anger rolled off the baby slayer in waves. "Sophia?"

"Liliana, baby, I was getting worried you would sleep through our reunion. I trust you're comfortable?" She glided across the room in a way that a panther would approach prey. The tip of the blade was pressed under Lily's chin as she used it to lift the younger girl's gaze. "You've been selected to deliver a present to my girl. Don't you feel lucky?"

"Sophia, let me go. You really don't want to do this." Her legs lashed out, knocking Sophia to the floor. Frantically she tried to get out of the chains, but it was no use. They were too heavy and she was at Sophia's mercy. Something told her there would be very little mercy.

"I was so hoping you'd fight back, Liliana. I taught you well."

"If you want me to fight, let me go so it can be a fair fight," Lily spat out angrily as the blade was used to cut her shirt free from her body. She felt too exposed hanging there in a flimsy silk bra and short skirt. Why hadn't she wore jeans?

"Be a good girl, scream," Sophia instructed as she began to cut into the pale canvas that was hanging in front of her. "So many freckles. It's like connecting the dots." Sophia said in a sing song voice as she alternated deep cuts with shallow ones. Sweat and tears filled the room with a salty scent, but to her credit Lily never screamed or begged for mercy. Not even when Sophia dropped the knife after carving into her back 'Alexia belongs to Sophia' in shallow cuts that were sure not to scar with her slayer healing, yet would remain long enough to be seen by the right people, and grabbed her by the hips, nails digging in deep as she whispered into her ear. "Now this? This is going to scar."

It was all the warning Lily received before Sophia shifted to her demon visage and tore at Lily's neck with her fangs. She drank deeply, but not deeply enough to kill the girl. No, no she needed her alive. She was cut down from the chains, falling into an unconscious puddle on the floor before Sophia wrapped her up like a present. She carried her out to the rocks, laid her like a sacrifice on the alter, and tucked a neatly wrapped present in between Lily's limp hands. Smoothing the long brown hair over her face to help conceal her identity, Sophia gave her a kiss on the temple and whispered, "You tasted as sweet as I imagined." There was a note of course, tucked under the wrapping paper of the gift. It said simply:

Alexia,

I believe presentation counts when giving someone a gift. You are my heart, and that will never change. Liliana owes her life to you. If not for my deepest affection for you, I would have sent her back to you and your brother with a new set of teeth and an insatiable appetite. I hope to see you soon.

Love always,

Sophia.

With that she called Lexi's cell phone and left a brief message, "You have a present on the rocks of our beach. I wouldn't leave it out there for too long...scavengers may get it." Hanging up, she disappeared into the shadows to watch and wait.

Sophia can be prey when she needs to be, but she prefers to be the predator. Lurking in shadows, around corners of malls and beaches, she's been watching her prey with a hunter's gaze. Lexi is trying to move on. Trying to forget what Sophia means to her. She's distracting herself with other lovers and friends. It's driving Sophia crazy.

"You're mine," she hisses into the night as she watches Lexi dance at a party with her friends. She's on the beach and she's watching the show unfold. Lexi is the star. She is always the star. The perfect little princess who demands everyones attention and devotion.

Can't she see that Sophia gives that willingly? Completely? Unconditionally even? But there will be conditions now. There will be a message sent loud and clear that Lexi had better stop being a bad girl and come back to Sophia. Otherwise. Well. Otherwise bad things will happen.

To make her point she drains the boy who looks so much like Lexi's father slowly. So slowly. She carves patterns into his face as a reminder of what Harry looked like when Sophia went after him. Then she leaves the body propped up like a present on top of Lexi's car. Sophia is a predator and she is ready to play with her prey. Come on, Princess Osborn, come and visit the Evil Queen. She has an apple with your name on it.
